UTEP Scientists to Study Climate Change Impacts in Alaska

EL PASO, Texas (October 11, 2023) – The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso is part of a groundbreaking grant awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to study climate change impacts and adaption in western Alaska. The region is experiencing increasing flooding and coastal erosion, permafrost thaw, loss of sea ice and other hazards, according to scientists.

A new $1.2 million National Science Foundation grant for the UTEP College of Education will spur research into how K-12 students learn the basics of computer science and how teachers can best instruct them in this increasingly critical skillset.

EL PASO, Texas (Oct. 9, 2023) – The College of Education at the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso has won a $1.2 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to improve computer science education for K-12 students.

The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso has been chosen to become a center of thought leadership for Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) across the country, thanks to a new $7 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Anne-Marie Núñez, Ph.D. (pictured), is the grant’s principal investigator.
