As a high school math teacher with 20 years under his belt, Jose Ruben Avalos was ready to take the next step in his career. The convenient online program has allowed him to flourish as a student while still maintaining a busy teacher schedule. Through the program, he has strengthened his Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK), preparing him to embrace the technology that is the future of teaching and to develop skills needed to thrive in advanced educational roles. He aims to use the skills gained from his master’s to work as a curriculum specialist, helping science and math teachers develop curriculum and content that meets the needs of the next generation of students.
