Lecturer Aldo Amparán is a 2021 National Endowment for the Arts literature fellow in creative writing for poetry and a 2020 recipient of the Alice James Award for poets. A former UTEP creative writing major and graduate of UTEP's Bilingual MFA in Creative Writing, he uses his award-winning skills to elevate the voices of his students.
Some creative writing graduates pursue graduate school or become published authors. Others become educators or counselors. Still others follow media careers in advertising, public relations and journalism. Many go on to careers in law, education and leadership.
